I looked at the 1948 serial numbers and nothing with the letter I
Is most likely 46 or 47
Let me know how you came up with

First is the serial number stamping font. Does it have a tapered kickstand? Are the rims S2’s?

Just to show you how screwed up the early post war serial numbers could be. Look at all the numbers for 1957. Look at all the repeat numbers for 1952 and 1953 and some of them are even repeated again for 1957. There was no specific numerical order in the first post war years.

That photo is the perfect “leave you guessing shot huh! Hahaha! Just blurry enough ya can’t make out the details and right angles so the kick stand and crank arm aren’t visible! Not so sure I could manage that if I tried!

It kills me when someone is looking for identification and can't post a few good, clear pics. With todays smart phones this is almost idiot proof.
If you’re not familiar with the early post war Schwinn seems pretty understandable that you wouldn’t think about those little things when usually all that’s needed after 48 is a clear shot of the serial number. I do know of a 45 that is a I number and also a red dx with painted lobdale’s that looks like a twin to this so I’m really curious about those details! Especially how the retaining pin for the kick stand and the visible end of the kick stand can look!
