I picked up some new gloves on sale at Walmart recently since a pair if others are getting holes. Mechanix Gloves are my favorite since my sponsor when racing XCMTB gave them to us when they first came out. Cool how they match my new bike, jersey, hat, t-shirt......Almost like it was premeditated.🤓

But more exciting is the latest addition to my Torker addiction arrived the other day. 50th Anniversary Torker+Vans limited edition shoes built for BMX.🤩 And the last few jewels for my new bike that matches my new shoes.😉

I'm glad I ordered 2 of the 300 pair available that won't be re-released. They are much more than I expected.

The engineering, high quality materials, minimal but robust design & perfectly executed strikes my German DNA. The incredible quality at just $99 appeals to my Scottish DNA. Fresh out of the box they smell like a high end dog toy which gets my K9 DNA excited!🥳

The soles are very sticky like a basketball shoe & the number of small details are amazing. The biggest thing that I wasn't expecting is that the sole is very stiff. Much like a touring shoe but flexes side to side to keep contact while railing berms, pulling tricks, etc. while stiff for pedaling efficiency.🤯🤯 I am very picky & these shoes are perfect in my opinion. Now I REALLY can't wait to get my bike put together the way I'd like and give the whole shebang some testing!

This tennis trophy arrived this week...It was for the men's doubles match originally commissioned in 1889 and won by W. S. Teall and C.D. Ternney....but the remaining engraved winners were 1900-1903...so I can't figure...Research pending...The maker was Hartford Silverplate Co....First I've heard of them but I'll be looking out for other trophies by them now...The engraved court scene had me and the crossed racquets on two sides...

Another great week in Kansas at the McPherson College Summer Institute. I had the chance to visit Galesburg, KS to see the collection of Stanley Shaw material. I also visited Twisted Oz Museum which has some amazing original motorcycles.

This 26” tall 1896 Crescent came my way as did this unknown ladies TOC. I am in love with this original Shaw Cycle Car poster. The Crescent will be available soon!
