Pedal Pusher Charlie
Wore out three sets of tires already!
how was it??
This was our 3rd meet in Old Towne Orange, thanks to the kindness of Orange Cycle, and it was great! Thank you to all the collectors who arrived early, set up tables, and brought bikes and cool parts to trade. And thanks to all of you who just showed up to browse, pick up a few parts, and socialize! The weather was absolutely perfect, especially for early February. There were many new faces and veterans of the hobby who we hadn't seen in years.
Some crazed collectors drove a good distance. Eddie @Eddie_Boy and Mercedes came down from Sacramento and included the swap and ride as part of her birthday celebration. Rick Risso and Gary Quail came down from Santa Cruz, and Jamie @higgens drove up from Temecula. Barstow and the desert were represented, and San Diego. The LA and Orange County crowd was thick!
Gary Quail pushed around a nice girl's Phantom until he made a trade for a Cycle Truck from Ted, @Scanner, our local Cycle Truck vendor. Marty @cyclingday did his usual drop of killer parts that sold out in a frenzied 5 minutes, no kidding. I traded off about 1/4 of what I brought out. Chip sold a whole lot of his Snake Belly tires.
There were so many trades and deals (maybe some others can share their experiences at the meet), lots of smiles, handshakes, laughter, and great conversations. There were some amazing bikes, but the joy was in seeing so many delightful collectors just enjoying the simple fun of a vintage bike meet and ride in the middle of winter. It felt like the old days! This meet is growing quickly.
The pictures we posted tell the rest of the story.
