Viktor Schreckengost (1906-2008) sculpts a pedal car in clay, before creating a working model, at Murray Ohio Manufacturing Co. in 1948.

In addition to designing Murray's pedal cars and bicycles, Schreckengost also designed a broad range of other products.

They included stoves, refrigerators, ceramics, lawn furniture, chairs, riding mowers, streetlights, flashlights, electric fans, gearshift consoles, machine tools, printing presses, broadcast equipment, artificial limbs, theater costumes, stage sets, ball gowns, and coffins.

Schreckengost taught at Cleveland Institute of Art for 50 years. He died at age 101. (Michael Schwartz Library, Special Collections, Cleveland State University.)
