BuddysSchwinn

'Lil Knee Scuffer
This is a 1995 Schwinn Black Phantom Centennial Edition, serial number G004509, one of the last produced in the run of 5,000, with what I believe is an unusually complete and documented provenance.

The bike was purchased new by my father, Jerry Amato, owner of Buddy's Schwinn Bicycle in Flushing, Queens -- a full Schwinn Total Concept authorized dealership. I have the original Schwinn West Distribution Center picking list dated January 1996, showing the order placed by Buddy's Schwinn and shipped directly to my office. That document, combined with the signed COA, creates an unbroken chain of custody from Schwinn to an authorized dealer to today.

What's included:
  • The bike, in excellent condition -- stored indoors its entire life, never ridden
  • Original signed Certificate of Authenticity -- Skip Hess, VP of Bicycles, and Ted Kirkbride, Black Phantom Project Manager
  • Original Schwinn West Distribution Center picking list, January 1996 -- Buddy's Schwinn, Flushing NY
  • Original Schwinn box (opened)
About the bike:
  • 1995 Centennial Edition, the only year produced
  • Original retail price $2,999
  • Hand built in the USA, limited to 5,000 units
  • Serial G004509 -- late production
  • Never ridden, always stored indoors, wrapped and boxed
  • Tires are original -- as with any 30-year-old rubber, the buyer should inspect before riding
  • Chrome, paint, leather saddle, and springer fork all in excellent condition
Asking $1,900 Located in Brooklyn, New York. Local pickup is really preferred. Will ship at buyer's expense, professional boxing required, buyer responsible for packing arrangements and costs.

My apologies. While trying to make the pictures more presentable for posting, I might have been too aggressive with Apple Photos. Here are the original photos. Let me know if you need any other detail.

Rob,

Thanks for reaching out.

I've packed the item in the original double box (a sturdy box inside a shipping box), so there's no packing charge—only the shipping cost. The box measures 74" x 36" x 6" and weighs 75 lbs. I know for sure UPS and FedEx will handle delivery. I recommend checking different carriers for the best rate (especially if you qualify for any discounts), and I'll coordinate the shipping on my end. I plan to list the item on eBay, and there is a fee to eBay if it sells there. If you decide to buy, I will deduct $200 from the purchase price to help cover the shipping costs, since I don't have to pay anything to the Cabe. Let me know your thoughts.

Jay
