Has ANYONE seen this before in separate ad's or a H.B. Smith catalog or as an English made version adapting the STAR drive mechanisms since alternate framing on single rider STARS were being made there simultaneously with American manufacturing..
What year is it?
Looks like two different wheel diameters.
Looks like an adaptation of two STARS and others parts and at least thought out with the front fork girder rods for strength support.
If this tandem bicycle still exists, it's gotta be a one-of-one to survive!

Dave Toppin, Carey Williams and other STAR researchers/archivists PLEASE COMMENT.

Thanks,

Mike Cates, CA.

Dave Toppin said he's seen that picture before but never seen the actual bicycle.
Carey Williams says from his past research notations on STARS that is was basically a mistake from the beginning but it looks neat. He thinks there is another photo that exists showing two people mounting it and says he's sure it was a real nightmare. No idea if it still exists or if it was taken apart for parts. It may not have been sold and just a factory one off.

Thanks you two for your valued input!

Mike cates, CA,.
