I do some fairly serious metal fab., myself. The repairs look good to me. Sleeving the fork, and plug welds would have been good, but as it is, still stronger than stock. Good save! Keep at it,,,,,

I don't see why the head or steer tubes would be stronger than they were before, but the bike is up to 500 miles now since this work was done, most of those miles fast and over bumpy pavement with a 200+ pound rider so that is a pretty good stress test.

I remember about 50 years ago when I broke the frame of my 20" muscle-bike stingray clone jumping off a ramp we made of boards and cinder-blocks and my father brazing it back together, finally got to do the same.

Got a freak nice day that was dry and in the 50-degree range so got this Paramount racer out for a 45-mile ride today over hill and dale, sidewalks and curbs and it worked great.

I bought a used pair of 180mm long pedal cranks to go on this bike, and it may eventually get some Continental GP5000s or other high-end tires this year, not sure. The Vittoria Rubino tires on it I got out of a trash dumpster and are pretty nice.

Well, for this riding season I will be running these 180mm Dura-Ace cranks, they will better match the tall frame and rider than the previous 170mm long cranks did, I am excited...
