I saw this bike when the seller brought it in to the spot across from mine at about 6AM. I really caught my eye. This is just how I like my bikes, all original well used bikes in good shape. It had all the bells and whistles as my mom would say, it had the light, trar rack, truss rods, tank. I looked at it, did not see anything on there that look to be replaced. Schwinn Typhoon USA made tires look original but I do not date tires. I am really into the Stingray bikes, but can appreciate a nice looking original bike when I see one. Asking price was good but there was the question we all ask ourselves at some time to another the being "do I really need this bike" or something to that extent. So I am sure we have all also been in the situation when you kind of hope the bike sells so you no longer have to think about if you should buy it or not. So towards the end of the meet at around noon it was still there and after a quick negotiation with the seller who I have dealt with before even telling him I may very well be reselling it right away, and like me when people tell me that he said when you buy it it is yours, re-sell it and make some money if you like, something like that, I went home with the bike. Looks like a Oct 1960 bike from serial # on it. Only bike I purchased there besides some parts. I sold Stingray bikes, and quite a few guards and seats. Got to catch up with Jim and what he has been up to. Great meet. Thanks Jim.

My first time to JAF/CO😁....I went to drop off three bikes and a couple of parts that were pre-sold!👍 I walked around the swap for 20 minutes, delivered the 3 bikes and parts, walked around for another 1/2 hour and was gone. I arrived at 10am and the swap was pretty much over at that point...I missed the group photo and the only bike I was interested in was marked SOLD. 😢I came home with a $2 fender stay for my Ross Delivery Cycle! It was a good day all around, found another sneaky way to get back on to the Peninsula on the weekend to avoid the traffic. I took a few inside photos, I knew there would be plenty of outside....

Thank you Jim for hosting yet another great Swapmeet ... Great addition was food from breakfast burritos - tacos & more which really hit the spot ...

Well my original plan was to take a one hour nap before heading up ... well it became a 3 hour nap which was needed ... but either way I probably saved a little money on lost deals that sold before I got there ... so I ended up leaving a little later from SoCal Saturday morning @ 1:30am - arriving in Stockton @ 7:00am with everyone set up with great stuff & going strong ... was great to see everyone again ... was able to deliver a bicycle & sell some CYCLONE COASTER t-shirts & hats & catch up with the extended family up North ... shot back home after & made it home about 11:30pm since my CYCLONE COASTER ride was Sunday morning in Long Beach ... Had a great time catching up with everyone ...

Our CYCLONE COASTER Swapmeet is next month on May 4th 2025 - 7:00am -to- 10:30am @ the Pike Restaurant & Bar followed by our vintage bicycle ride @ 11:00am from 4th street & Junipero in Long Beach which I will post in the next few days on our website - Facebook & the Cabe

Here are a couple group shots I have from the JAF/CO swap

NEXT JAFCO MEET JUNE 7th.
Besides the swap itself I like going to these to see Jim. Jim is now 80 years young. Now days Jim can only text and I do not text, so it gives me a chance at the meets to catch up with Jim and how everything is going. On Saturday I was reminiscing with him about the time I was throwing a bike show and bike ride on July 4th 2001 at my home in Capitola Village. It was a Stingray bike event, I even had a wheelies on the wharf event to see who could wheelie the best and longest on the old wooden wharf. Anyway Jim would always kid me about me and my damn Stingray bikes. When I was not selling at a swap I bought at the Good Guys shows in Pleasanton Jim would always let me bring down to the show a few Stingrays to sell at his swap spot. He would always shake his head when I brought them into his spot saying you and those damn Stingrays. But he would sell those bikes for me. Jim would not even mind when I was out of his spot most of the time walking through the swap and car shows. He would just say just ask me when I left what do you want for those damn Stingrays, and when I came back he would usually have one or both sold.

Anyway when I told Jim back then he was invited to my Capitola show and ride but it was for Stingray bikes only, he said he would be there. I said he could borrow on of my Stingrays for the ride if he wanted. Then he said no, but don't worry I will be there. So then on that 4th of July day most everyone already there at my place, a good turnout and then here comes Jim riding in. He was on an old Schwinn balloon tire bike with a tank and rear rack that he put some butterfly Stingray bars on. He pointed to his bars and said this is my Stingray. He also had a Stockton old newspaper bag on the back rack, really cool looking bike. So here was Jim riding along with all those "damn" Stingray bikes through Capitola Village and up and down the old wooden wharf. I had a photo of Jim on that old 20" bike of his that day, wish I could find it. And to top it off he won a trophy in the bike show for that bike later that day. Good times back then and now. Can't wait for the next meet in June, Thanks Jim.
