I’ve collected lots of stuff over the years but small engine Honda’s, namely those from the cub family were my favorite. I joke I have OCD…..obsessive cub disorder.
These are a few of the little Hondas I own.
Built this Baja themed bike from an early CT90 and a swag of optional Genuine Honda parts.
1961 Sport Cub
1967 SS50 5 speed.
Trio of original paint pushrod engine Super Cubs
Honda 50 Solo
1997 Honda Dream 50. 50cc single DOHC 4 valve, 6 speed. 14000rpm.
The Monkey bikes are a heap of fun too.
1967 Honda Monkey. Pulled out of a Japanese wrecking yard with 600 miles on the odometer.
1975 J1 with 400 miles.
1970 Mini Trail restomod
1981 Tokyo Edition I pulled out of another wrecking yard with 2 miles on the odometer. It had bent forks and the fuel from 81 in the tank when I got it in 2017
2017 50th anniversary Monkey. Last model to be produced in Japan. Fuel Injected with 0.7 miles on the odometer.
Boxes and boxes of NOS Honda parts just happened along the way too.
My prized ride is this 65 Fastback I got out of Dana Point CA almost 20 years ago. Other than the Shelby type front valance it has all of its original panels and powered by a 331 Stroker and 5 speed. I restored it 10 years ago. I repainted the underside in red oxide primer as Ford did, fitted the new engine, Tremec transmission, suspension, wiring and lines. Fantastic rust free body although the paint on the body is average (as I got it) and I'm fine with it that way.
I’ve promised myself a clean original late 60’s Ford pickup when I retire in a few years. I would also love a 34 Ford Roadster. I spotted this one last year while I was riding. The sound of the Ardun equipped Flathead was music to my ears.
