Up for sale is an authentic, completely untouched 1973 Schwinn Sting-Ray Apple Krate. This bike is a true survivor, and has never been restored or seriously altered.
Originality & Specs
My Grandpa bought me this bike used in 1985 from a bike shop Battle Creek, MI. I rode it well when I was a kid. In the late 90's I had a bike shop in Kalamazoo box it up and I shipped it with me via Amtrak down to Texas. It's been in a box and moved around with me since then. I just opened the box for the first time last week. I wish I'd done that years ago, to prevent the rust. But you know... life.
I didn't wash it or clean it up. I've left the dirt and grime on there because the internet tells me that collectors would prefer to clean it correctly themselves.
I've taken a bunch of pictures. I can take more if you like.
I'd prefer local pick up in the Austin, TX area. If this needs to be shipped, the buyer handles shipping costs, and the cost for a local bike shop to pack it up however you want.
