Thank you! Good to know. Also, I notice that you're a brand new member. I'm honored that my post was the first that you replied to, two minutes into your new membership, no less.

You were a minute faster than me...lol

That's a beautiful machine, and pretty rare. Being set up for a Female and a smaller size, it's pretty desirable to the vintage roadie crowd. If I owned it, I'd take a small washcloth and some Isopropyl alcohol to the white brake handle hoods and make them white again. Then I'd bring it to the l'Eroica event in Paso Robles to offer it to that crowd.

I have donated the bike to my brother to see if he wants to repair the shallow crack. He's a bike dude. Thank you all for your input. Much appreciated.
I will be undergoing 22 months of foot surgeries and once I am out of the woods I will be looking for a light weight electric bike for a small woman 5'2", me. : )

Sabrina, the "small crack" is on a small, plastic part and is of no consequence. My prayers go out to your speedy recovery from the surgeries.

The "Made in Italy" decal is misleading. Probably assembled there by Daccordi or whoever did it for Lawee, but the frame is 100% French and the components Japanese. Excellent bike for the smaller rider.
I have a Univega road bike, 1979 also, which was built in Italy by Torpado. I suspect maybe they also assembled this Bertoni?

Best of luck with your surgeries. Not feet for me but spine. Love to still collect though and love your Bertoni. Please reach out and let me know if your brother still wants to sell.

Hi BikerBluz...like the title. Your bike is really lovely, too. I have reached out to my brother just in case he is interested in a sale. If so, how do you two get connected? We are in Santa Barbara, CA. I don't know if he follows The Cabe. I will ask. Stay tuned. Cheers, Sabrina

Thanks. Appreciate you getting back with me.

Greetings Cabe Cyclists,

My Bertoni bicycle is still up for sale. It has been recently refurbished with new tires and a tune-up. Need to let it go and I hope to a vintage road bike enthusiast. The Bertoni is very accessible from Ventura-SLO counties or perhaps to anyone who lives further North/South of the TriCounties. You are welcome to see it resting in storage awaiting an active next owner. Who will you be???
