Hello folks,

I'm trying to get a front fender to put on my 2004 Nirve switchblade bike. Wondering how you are supposed to figure out dimensions and measurements in order to find a fender that will fit correctly. It came without the stock one, so what harm in customizing a little?

The bike as it sits:

I found another member on here who had the same bike with added vintage fenders; the look of that is exactly what I'm after for mine;

You could alert the member with the blue Nirve bike to this thread by typing @ before his/her name in a reply (as I did below with your name), or even by editing your original post.

At the heart of what that bike was built on is Customization. Forget the whole concept of measuring and buying online...or even at a box store. Bring your bike to a fellow biker with parts, use their garage like a change room at the mall, but with fenders and tires. Lol

But yes, like Freqman said, those are Deep (Super?)Deluxe Monark fenders. There's no mistaking them!
It looks like the rear tire on the blue bike is something wider than the factory one on yours, 2.4"+ wide. Surely that's what that guy did was buy bigger tires to try and stuff it in that fender until finding the Goldilocks size that didn't rub.

This is the only Deep Deluxe Monark fender I spotted on ebay, not a price I would pay... https://www.ebay.com/itm/2572787911...pid=5335809022&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1
Beware, there are plenty of the thinner/lower profile Monark fenders on ebay. This price is more par for the course. Thread 'NOS 1950 Deep Monark Super Deluxe Fenders ...for build/restore' https://thecabe.com/forum/threads/n...uper-deluxe-fenders-for-build-restore.253275/

These nirve bikes have a proprietary rear tire they come with called a "Fat Ass" tire. It's pretty big at 3 inches width. Thanks for the info!

The last set I had of these I sold for $65 last year! I'm pretty sure the guy with the blue bike is from SC and I haven't heard from him in a while.
