‘85 Trek 850

I picked up this 1985 Trek 850 for light paved and gravel trail riding. I have not ran across these older mountain bikes regularly while attending estate sales. I normally keep an eye out for them. This one is pretty much stock with early Deore deer head components. Wondering if anyone here has one of these 850’s and what modifications have you made.

I would love to find an older Trek MTB but they are pretty scarce. I don't think the production numbers were very high. Are those the original tires?

I got some information from the original owner. Said he replace the tires ten to fifteen years ago. They still hold air but I’ll replace them later.
