The full name of the "acceptances" document above: "Summary Report of Acceptances, Tank-Automotive Material 1940-1945, Army Service Forces Office, Chief of Ordnance-Detroit, Production Division, Requirements & Progress Branch".

I photographed the other page mentioned above, showing the 8 Schwinn tandems of 1945, and attached it here, for the sake of completeness (mainly for Kit and Adrian).

I also included the bicycle section of the orders document, titled "Ordnance Department, Administrative and Tactical Vehicles, 1940-1945" and a similar orders document but with "Defense Aid" added to the otherwise identical title.

Hi Bill,

Thank you again. That is absolutely fascinating, answering some questions, and adding others.

There really is too much for me to go into detail with in one shot, so I'll make a few comments now, and come back deeper later after I've crunched and combined the numbers (and hopefully other people will chime in too).

It is the first time I've seen exact delivery numbers for the G519 for both Westfield and Huffman.

I have not seen any previous mention of Defense Aid supply of G519 to the UK or India, and it is interesting that they are from both Huffman and Westfield.

there is no mention of the bicycles supplied to China under Defense Aid.

There is mention of the 'Folding' Huffman bicycles, but no mention of the Westfield Compax, which implies that it was never ordered on a Military contract.

Best Regards,

Adrian
