Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
End of the run for me restoring the good old bikes...this one is a last of the Mohicans from the old shop
that is now soon to be a distant memory. Been fun restoring bikes for all kinds of people
all over the US and even the world for the last 30 years straight. Still in the game, just
no restoration shop anymore for the time being. More to come...cranked out a dozen
or so in the last few months as the window closes on the festivities there.
Fully original parts, even the battery tray for the light, restoration of a 41 deluxe Schwinn bike
with the Admiral plate. Pat pending front and rear brakes, they do have new cables, Torrington
bars, AS stem, locking spring fork with Arnold, Schwinn & Co key that works smooth as silk.
NOS 1st year for the Typhoon tires, WW's on this one. Deluxe Schwinn Stimsonite reflector
with upside down logo, B-1 leather saddle, prewar tank with prewar Delta horn unit. Torrington 10 pedals.
Sweet bike on every level. One of Schwinns "classiest" color combos. Maybe I'm the
last person on earth restoring these bikes for posterity, who knows. Long list of jobs
completed over the years and a fun ride meeting great people and making new lifelong friends.
Restored bikes! Not everyones cup of tea, but I always tried to do the bikes justice to represent
what we might have seen on the old Showroom floors!
5500.00 firm....shipping in one piece Uship or other carrier arrangement.
Swamped here with a big move, will try and get more pix up tomorrow.
