If the small frame size is keeping you from enjoying the bike, i put on a extra long seat post with a steel rod inside on my 61 Panther so it wouldnt bend. I also put on a higher set of bars. I'm 5'10" and its very comfortable now

The posts that came on exercycles are extra thick and extra long and solve the too short or bending problems that big guys like me cause. I have them on all my cruisers.

Well, something happened internal to the 3 speed. Climbing a hill in low, the pedals made an extra 1/2 revolution with no forward motion of the wheel. All bound up. Maybe giving her a bit too much torque with the small front sprocket.

Ha ha, no, pushed and pulled on wheel and stood on pedals to rotate backwards. It rolled home the last 10 miles, only have second gear. I really want to swap out to a 3 spd coaster brake hub anyway. Now is a good time.
