Persons made the banana seats for Schwinn. Your seat is a Persons but it's the later style pan / core before they went out of business.

Unfortunately it is part of the process here on the site. No one really means anything too negative, it is that you are asking a group of grown men questions and we do not often get to post memes other then here. Trust me @THE STIG is somewhat mild. His frustration was with your misunderstanding of the Persons /Schwinn connection. Most people who are asking top dollar for a highly discussed bike like a Krate usually have a bit more knowledge on the item. A small bit of research would have answered your questions easliy. Your bike is far from worthless in fact what you have is in great condition but even at $1400/1500 you need to be ready to answer questions about its authenticity. If it was your life long bike and had never left you, then some assumptions could be made. Even then some may want to see certain parts to further authenticity. Good luck and as long as you mention a replaced seat no problems
