Wore out three sets of tires already!

Whether you think it is good or bad, we may be in for a jump in the price of Stingray bikes very soon. The Orange Krate on BAT brought $11,500+, and the other 5 bikes are doing very well. Makes me wonder if the nice Disc brake Apple Krate I sold yesterday that was listed on this forum was to cheap at $3500. No worries BAT is like Ebay, a totally different type of medium to sell on, a lot of work but generally good sales prices. I am sending in photos now of some bikes to sell but their MO is they will want it at no reserve, which I have no problem with. But I have an old camera and they may want professional photos of bikes taken, they are tough. If you have used BAT you know what I am talking about.

As I am typing this the Pea just sold 11K.
I tried in the past to get a Krate listed on BAT, they said it had to have an engine on it. I wonder how many people like myself in the next few might be requesting to BAT to sell their bikes

I have sold a couple of cars on BAT. They are extremely firm with their requirements. Pro photos or they arrange to have them taken. BAT will do everything they can to avoid reserves. Definitely a different group of buyers and lowballers get rolled over quickly.

I have watched a few of my old cars and restorations sell through Bat over the years. The comment section is on par with Facebook collector/hobby knowledge. Somewhat lacking. Every brand needs an expert to keep the peanut gallery in line.

I get where you are coming from, like anywhere one has to kind of weed through some bad knowledge to get to the good stuff. There are some real good brand/model experts on BAT in my opinion. I have learned quite a bit on there about specific vehicles I own, owned, or want to own that I never knew before. And there does seem to be one or two people for each model listed that know there stuff and like you said , "keep the peanut gallery in line". I like that and have not used that expression in years, made me smile reading it, peanut gallery.

All I can say is I hope the buyers did their research. The thing I still find interesting is that the only difference between Krate models is color, decals, etc. So if not a documented original and restored, can you tell it started out as a Cotton picker? or are you paying an additional 11K for different color and decal name ? In other words wouldn't it be possible to restore every Krate as the rarest model ? Yesterday on Barrett-Jackson they auctioned a 70 Chevelle restored in rare Carolina Blue factory color. Thing is serial number plate shows this as an original Carolina blue car as it left the factory. Don't think on bikes you can determine original color if restored. I don't know, does anyone ? I would love to know. Although these Krate's are absolutely beautiful and quality restorations, to me nice unrestored would be the only option if I were to purchase a high end model.
