1971 Schwinn Krate COTTON PICKER

Hello CABE community,

I’m new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I am Mark and live in Montgomery County, Maryland area. I am looking to sell a 1971 Krate Cotton Picker, but before doing so, I wanted to share it here to get some honest feedback, valuation advice, and expertise from the community. I have done online research and understand the uniqueness of this bike. I also have a 1971 Grey Ghost that I'll ask for feedback in a separate post. My dad bought the Grey Ghost and Cotton Picker for my brother (deceased) and me. My dad purchased these bikes new in 1971 and they have never been resold.

About the Bike:

Purchase: My dad originally purchased this Schwinn Krate Cotton Picker in 1971 (the frame dates to an October 1970 fabrication date.)

Condition: ~20 years ago my dad replaced the tires, seat, and hand grips to make the bike ridable for my kids. Other than that, the bike is in its original condition.

Serial Number: KF34756 (Stamped on the head tube)

Great bike and welcome to the CABE.. Looks like your father replaced the pedals also.. Would you still have the original seat or pedals?

Thanks Kevin! I do not have the seat or pedals. Thanks for pointing out the pedals - I thought they were replaced, but my dad didn't remember (I did ask specifically). I'll advertise as pedals replaced.
