...you may win the award this year for greatest distance traveled! Anyone care to challenge him??

I accept the challenge!!!

Greetings fellow CABE people that may be attending the NGBS. I just made the decision last night to drive down to Norcross this weekend from my home in NY. GPS says it's 900+ miles, 15 hours. Do I get the prize for farthest travel? I'm trying to beat the Texans that are coming, looks like it'll be close. 😉

I just started collecting again after a 40-year hiatus. I'm specifically looking to buy a few complete, original, postwar, deluxe, survivor balloon bikes to get my collection rolling again. At the top of my list would be a Super Deluxe / Super Cruiser, X-53, Higgins / Colorflow, maybe a Five-Star, maybe a Luxury Liner, maybe a Phantom. But I'd consider any postwar deluxe bike.

Any folks attending the NGBS that may have bikes for sale that fit my targeted criteria, please PM me ASAP, it would be helpful to have a bit of advanced intel in terms of how many bikes might be available. Like, will I need to rent a trailer? 😁

I am greatly looking forward to meeting everyone and having a blast at the NGBS! This will be the very first classic bicycle meet I've ever been to. Back when I was collecting in the late `70's / early `80's, the only meets I had heard about were in CA or MI and I wasn't old enough yet to drive. But how badly I had wanted to attend back then! It's time to satisfy the bucket list, life is short! 🙂

Many thanks to those who put these shows together, I'm much looking forward to it!!!

👍

It just occurred to me, I'll be driving an empty minivan from Long Island, NY to the NGBS in GA. If anyone north of GA needs a bike or two transported down to the NGBS, I'd be happy to do it, free of charge of course, you can meet me along the way. Though I do not anticipate having much or any space in my van on the way back from GA to NY.

Well looking like it's gonna rain... pretty hard at that. Most of what I'm seeing is it coming through overnight Saturday into early Sunday. Should be finished by 8 or so. Looks like it's a fast moving thin band. Still too far out to know.

I was at the warehouse today and looks like inside is going to be a no go. Just too much incoming freight over the next two days. I've decided to use the side of our building so folks can park where they set up. Plenty of room for trailers etc. It will save the time and energy carting things into front lot or into the building. It will be two long rows between our building and the next.

The biggest concern is for those traveling... be safe and we'll see everyone at 8:30 Sunday morning for set up. Should be a nice day Sunday once the storm is gone

That offsets the hour time difference... Good solution on the move to the side. That way I can leave bikes in the truck if it is still raining.

Weather forecast keeps improving . .

I have received a number of calls in the last few days and have booked more local vendors as it looks like the bulk of the weather will be done by start time. For those that are traveling especially westbound and down into the storm PLEASE BE SAFE!

Thanks for everyone's support and really looking forward to another great swap!

See everyone tomorrow
