@FreedomMachinist Jochen, Good morning!

After all this time, I haven't put tires on the bike. And now that I'm ready... I don't remember the size 🤪!! I know it's a 28'' tire I'll need, but not the width. So please let me know when you get a chance.

Thanks! 🙂
fred

Hey Fred. You made your Schladitz so super nice again and then you skipped the tires ? ;) 😱 Oh man, you really need to change that 😆😂👍 your bike requires "Wulstreifen" , beaded edge tires, not single tube, but separate tube and casing, but the tire has no wires... There is one company still making them, search for "Rubena Wulstreifen". In terms of size, there is only one : 28x1,5 which is just fine and also fits American G&J rims, which is really neat- I wish America would have used less single tubes and more beaded tires 😆
There is four color choices, I'd would go with the white Rubenas (light beige) but red would also be authentic, black as well for the 1920s, I don't think they made the dark brown ones back in the day...

I apologize for hijacking.

I have 2 rims that are similar to yours
but they seem to be slightly different sizes.
They will not accept the same size tire.

One is 33mm wide and seems to accept a 622 BSD tire.
approx 25 1/8" total diameter

It also seems to have some kind of weld bead on the middle of the inside
(yours appears to have also)

The other is 32mm wide and is too big for a 622 tire.
approx 25 3/8" total diameter
A 635 tire fits but is a little too loose.
I am wondering if this one is a 630, and is that what the Rubenas are?

@FreedomMachinist Thank you for the update on the tires! I just saw this now. 😕

The bike has been resting in a stand all this time, with me still wondering what to do. But... I had no idea it used beaded edge tires, not single tube. I hacksawed the petrified ones off, never thinking of looking closer!!
I'm only looking to put something the bike to roll it around, not ride it.
