I'm the Wiz, and nobody beats me!
Was going to post in what did you work on today but this has a bigger story, finally got this 39 CWC built Western Flyer after a marathon 5-6 week purchase from a now suspended struggeling member ( not going to go into that now as a few members are still trying to get their bikes/parts shipped! ), I bought it without a tank ( the one on it did not match but I have a og matching one! ) it came missing a few other thing that were on it in the for sale pics I hope to still get including a possibly og cream guard but what this story is about is the previous owner said the bike was covered in black paint that he stripped and he said also OA bath, the bike was way worse than pics with green barely visible in places fenders almost looked primered with oa aftermath!, brought it back the best I could with boiled linseed oil, back to my main point I bought a spray bombed black tank 25+ yrs ago, don't remember where I got it, the bike came out of Detroit and I went to a few Michigan & Pennsylvania swaps and other scavenging on the east coast, so coincidence that both this bike and tank are kinda rare apple green covered in black paint ( some different variations of color/greens even on the same piece probably from different stripping processes ), guess I'll never really know but would make a good story, oh ya, bent tank is my least favorite CWC model but had the green tank so had to buy the bike!

Did you take any "before" pics?

Glad that you finally got the bike. It's really cool that you were able to reunite original tank with original bike. Hope to get my tank tomorrow. Being shipped in same box as another members bicycle, which was not something I agreed to. I didn't even hear about it from seller. Had to hear about it from the other member. Hopefully no unwanted surprises when unboxed. Glad this horror story is almost over for everybody this jerk worked over, and that he's been suspended.

I'm still due parts from my purchase.
Keep us posted? a few others are awaiting bikes & parts, I'm still wondering what ever happened to my missing parts, especially the cream chain guard?
