This was just posted on The Radavist. Wende Cragg rode and documented many of the early Repack races. She took hundreds of pictures, capturing the beginning of what would become mountain biking. The early builders including Joe Breeze, Gary Fisher, Tom Ritchey, etc. are pictured. Many great shots of the old Schwinn klunkers too.
Great link! Thanks for posting it. Many of those pics along with more info are in Charlie Kelly's Fat Tire Flyer book:

It's a great read. I'm glad I got my copy when it was a new release. I do regret forgetting to take it with me to the swap meet at the Marin Bike Museum to have him sign it. Eventually maybe. Apparently it's collectible now and out of print:

I think Wende's bike was the 6th frame/fork built by Joe Breeze. The rest of the build would have been done by Charlie Kelly and Gary Fischer.

I'm pretty sure this is the one on display at the museum:
If you're ever in the SF Bay Area and have the time you owe yourself a trip to this museum. It's got some pretty mind blowing machines. When I went I got a personalized tour by Joe Breeze's wife and I met Joe Breeze, Alan Bonds and Charlie Kelly. Fun times for sure!

I’m pretty sure she’s on one of the 10 bikes Joe Breeze built. I don’t think Ritchey ever built a frame like that.

Yep, you're right, that's a Breeze frame. The next gen was the Ritchey Mountain Bike. Thanks for the heads up.

That is a Breezer Series 1. Next generation was the Series 2, without the twin laterals, followed by the Series 3. I believe Tom Ritchey built his first mountain bike frame in 1978-79.

One of the photos above shows a group of Series 1 and Series 2 Breezers together in a field

The Marin Museum was selling autographed copies of Charlie's book, which is how I obtained mine, plus a copy of the Klunkers film, also autographed. Also, some years back, I purchased back issues of the Fat Tire Flyer mag from Charlie on Ebay. Amazing that we have access to these legends and can ask them questions.

Visiting the museum is on my bucket list.

I've got some of the Fat Tire Flyer mags too. Fun to read and look through the old photos and adds. The museum is definitely worth a visit.
