Does anyone know where this shop is located? Dick and Tom lived in Cali so I assume the shop is located somewhere around were they lived or worked. If I'm correct in guessing the shop name it's Willows. The sign is blocking one letter and I can make out WILL and WS on the other wall.

This "very cool" picture is way before my time with Schwinn, so I have no definitive information. There was a Schwinn Dealership in the town of Willows, CA., but it was a small sporting goods and Schwinn dealer combination in a very small town. They were located in the downtown area, (but did not look like your store front photo). I called on them as a Schwinn account in the late 1970's. Note, Willows is about 75 miles north of Sacramento, and not that far from the Napa wine country which the Smothers were later involved.

California does have a town named Willows but it be a fur piece from Los Angeles/Hollywood:

Both brothers were born in NYC so Willows CA could not be their home town.

Already check that out, they were born in New York but when their dad died in WWII the family moved to California. They went through school in California. I went thru this thread and didn't see any shop stickers that matched up.

I checked him out the best I could. His shop location didn't match the road sign in the picture. He and his wife died the same year, and she had a pretty interesting life. 🙂

perhaps building got demolished, along with one or more adjacent ones, and the new building constructed on the site was given a differing number

knew someone who operated a shop in Spokie during roughly the 1970's & 1980's - Jim Britain, but never knew name of shop...

Terry Solinski had a large shop in Spokane during the 1980's. That's a cool name plate store decal.
