I picked up about 80 of these scotch brite type Dremel wheels a while back and I've been trying them out on all kinds of parts. Great tool for cleaning the inside of the fender braces among other things.

I promote this stuff so often I should get a sponsorship. Works amazing on chrome. Easy to use, non-toxic.

I use brass wool on chrome. Also 3m hand glaze for cleaning paint after the initial dirt cleaning.

I have a large Scotchbrite wheel (6”) on my bench grinder. It will clean up existing chrome and if no finish left, it will buff metal to a mirror shine.
