I had always thought the front caliper was part of a safety mandate.
Seemed like around 70 even the cheapy two guys & monkey wards 20 spoke muscle bikes all came with a front caliper.

That black Stingray looks very familiar ;)

There’s Mr. Buck Peacock. Been 20 years since the purchase.
This man ^^^^ has a trained eye and knows factory Original paint, especially on a ‘65 Black Stingray Survivor.

Nice to see your post Buck.
Take care, Chris.

A couple early BB Overdrive wheels that do not have the date code stamped on the back of the brake arm.
My research shows the dates started in late ‘67, especially on the Model B arm.

Another service of a Blue Band.

Has anyone made a video of how to rebuild the blue band? Does anyone offer a rebuilding service on the east coast?

I found this to be very informative and useful when starting with these hubs. Save it, print it out, get it greasy throw it away. Print it again the next time.

Any video you find on the yellow is the same other than what gear you take it apart in.
There is only two mechanical peices different between a yellow band and blue band, and really they are very easy to work on.
You will need to make or purchase a tool to do this.

If you need a visual to figure out how these internals work and come apart, I like the way this guy explains it. Just keep in mind that all of the Bendix kickback hubs work on the same principles, except the Overdrive input(sprocket) is opposite from the red and yellow band kickbacks. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3n0ffUd1sKOxrUMZB2vA6na1EZS3lnuE&si=wAMNnWJ4fLog3kbz
There are also several other troubleshooting threads here on the forums that address specific hub problems.
If you are not a patient or detail oriented person that is mechanically inclined and think you need a step by step video for the rebuild of this specific hub, definitely find someone that has serviced one before. I repair these hubs, but being in Kentucky isn't exactly on the East Coast...lol
