The Cimarron was one of Schwinn's best. Please share yours. I'll start with my all original 1985 Cimarron, ex-collection Museum of Mountain Bike Art and Technology.
Sorry I missed this thread! Here is my '87 from summer 2023, still wearing its original tires, and one from summer 2024 with new tires. Original tires and saddle are in storage. I never had the original bars.
You do not see lots of them because not a lot of them were originally sold. It's a very nice model, top quality frame and parts selection.
It would be very difficult to restore an old one to the lever of these very nice originals. Many of the original alloy parts were anodized and it would be not only difficult but likely cost prohibitive to coat just a hand full of parts to their correct original finish.
Some time has gone by. The Cimarron was a special, even unique bike. Maybe some of our new members will have one. I'd really like to see them. Thanks, Kit
