Speaking of Pea seats. Was a nice day here Saturday in San Jose, I was working in the yard, my wife who was doing some Spring cleaning in the house comes out and says, "did you know you have a big box of bike seats in the back of the guest bedroom closet. I did not remember putting a box of seats in the closet, but I did know there was one seat I was looking for the last 18 years that had to be in there. I go upstairs and see a large plastic bin, I opened it and right on top I see two original used Pea seats in pretty nice shape. The photos taken were the first I have seen of these seats in 18-19 years I figure. I forgot about this bin buried in the back of a closet. The seat with an M for Mike on it was the one seat I knew had to be somewhere, rest I had forgotten about. It was given to me 20 years ago on my 50th birthday at a party my wife through for me. A good friend of mine who did seats for me was there and gave me that seat he made. Now I know this does not say much about how I keep track of my bikes and parts, kind of embarrassed and thought about not posting this as it does not say much about my organizational skills, but hey it was a pleasant surprise. The new seats in bin are from Persons when they sold everything off I think it was, great pans for recovering seats. Anyway, not looking to sell any at this time, just kind of fun to see the 2 Pea seats on top of the bin after talking about them here.

This multi-layer tub storage situation makes me extremely anxious. It's what I do for seat cores that need new foam, but if I so much as sat 2 seats in a bin like that for just a short enough ride to a swap meet, I wouldn't be as lucky. My luck would result in one seat gouged by a reflector tab and mount bolt with a permanent dent in the cover and foam of the other.

Glad to see these survived 18+ years in storage without any big dents. At $500 a pop, it makes me want to separate what I already have on shelves with cases made of Kryptonite. Lol

Could that be the next big craze, Otter Boxes for Banana seats??!? Haha!
