Front sprocket looks to have 48 x 1/2" teeth, (and not 52 or 26); but not sure when the 3-R's design started.
The straight down tube is a relatively older style of frame, with the curved down tube advertised as new for the higher-end models of Rollfast bikes, for 1942
The K-X serial number stamps are peculiar, guessing that they might indicate 1942.
One might check for evidence of any other fastener holes that may have been covered.
A red "E" style Excelsior Mfg. Co. badge, with the vertical fastener holes might fit?
