What a beautiful example! and the paperwork says it was purchased in 1948? That’s a long time for a 46 to be sitting around in the shop.
 
Yes purchased in 1948. Odd ball parts on it. Makes me wonder if it being West Coast sold instead of near Chicago can explain the parts being radically different.

I wouldn’t think that the destination would have anything to do with the parts being used.

This Schwinn is in a movie called Lost in Yonkers. It appears in a scene taking place in 1942 but its a postwar cantilever Schwinn with strange front fender dart at the backside(maybe backwards and front frame darts are short.
