Merry Christmas everyone. I mentioned to my son a while ago that I wanted a suitable bike for my Smith Motor Wheel and he got this bike for me as a Christmas present.
I was hoping I might get some help identifying it.
No headbadge. The numbers under the crank look like P5207F. There are remnants of I believe an original decal on the downtube. Wood rims, 28” tires.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sure looks like a Pope/ Westfield product, the P is for Pope, F the year I think 1915. Though usually the F would be before the #s, that's my call

1000% columbia pope.. thats the decal on the seat tube.. or whats left.. says columbia pope or did

the cranks are super rare.. ive been looking for those cranks for years..
as for the year, New Mexico Brant can date it based on the rims and the hub.. def teens or 20's

great find!! a hundred year old pope columbia!!! ride it!!

youre putting a motor on it?? wth?

No worries, the motor sits to the side with removable brackets. Thanks for the information. Those decal remnants definitely helped ID it. Here is a pic of another project I’m working on that shows the setup.

Do you have a picture of the head badge holes? Also are there any decals on the lower frame tube?

Thanks @New Mexico Brant (-:

I was watching this one hoping to learn myself.

I don’t have a definitive answer but..

Unless it’s been changed, the chain wheel is a Pope/Westield pattern.

After Pope became part of Westfield, for a few years in the early teens Westfield serial numbers were year letter, number, P for Pope. The serial number is not of this format, and the stamp font is different to the Westfield era Popes.

So, as a guess, I think the first letter is P for Pope, and it was produced before the Westfield era. So made prior to 1916. But I have not got a comparison for it, so it is a best guess for now. (-:

Best regards, Adrian
