Finally riding a big boys bike
I've had an open workers comp case since July of 2023. I was injured while working and I can no longer perform my trade that Ihave made a living from for 25 years. My State disability ran out, no settlement has been made, and it'll be at least 200 days till my Federal benefits kick in, or they decide that I'm ineligible because I can still perform many tasks without assistance (thank God). There is a lapse of time where I will have no money coming in and I'd like to be able to keep my house. Before Wednesday my back up plan was to sell my car.
On Wednesday I totaled my car and I only had liability insurance. If you look at the picture of the wreck, it is an absolute miracle that I walked away from it without a scratch on me (thank God). No one was hurt (Thank God) besides the light pole I ran into two miles from my house. I was super tired and coming back from LA and fell asleep. I thought I was going to make it home and tried to power through. Bad Idea.
So Im selling off a large majority of my vintage bicycle collection. It is mainly pre 1983 Schwinn Cruisers and Stingrays of various years. There are other bikes... mid 70s MX BMX bikes, light and middle weights, customs, some pre-war bikes, random ones, and TONS OF PARTS.
I reserved 3 spots at the Long Beach Cycle Swap on November 24th, 2024. I'll be set up in the back isle where the bicycles usually are. Spots 32, 33, and 34. My prices will be firm but VERY FAIR. I need to get rid of this stuff as a matter of survival so my loss is your gain. Please feel free to message me if there are any particular parts, frames, or complete bicycles you are looking for before the swap.
