The Model-A will permit the use of (11?) loose 5/16" bearings in place of each of the A-16 bearing/retainers (#46).

If the A-7 small adjusting cone (0.50" inside) is too worn out, then a Model-D cone (0.54" inside) might be used, with eight (8) reduced size ~7.5mm ball bearings, (again loose), but that would require removal of the A-5 sprocket set nut (or locking-ring/dust-cover), and sometimes those are seized.

Also, a member sells replacement A-13 axle nuts, (that fit the oversize N.D. axles).

I own 2 super easy to assemble. The only thing that I've noticed between the two is the display one I call has cracks in the drum. By no means do they have great brakes. The D's are hard to beat for period hubs for brakes that you can actually lock up the tire. I put them on all (almost) of my riders. It seems like metal on metal drag brakes were a very common design

Also, another CABE member sells replacement ND axles on eBay; sometimes the original axles get bent or worn out.

He may also have replacement concave or spherical washers, that are often lost.
