ID help JC Higgins Pre/Post war bike 1947?

I think this bike is a first year after the war made with left over parts both prewar and postwar. The serial # is L268627. The tires seem to be original Allstate Crusader 26 x 2.125. Nice reflector and front load headlight.

Really clean OG bike. I would have to agree about it being a late war model.

I dont see anything that would make me think otherwise. Has the stars still...prewar look, but postwar badge.

Great bike! Can we see a shot of the left side of the kickstand area, and what's the serial # please??

L is Westfield, 1947. There are a few Elgin badged bikes out there on postwar frames too, not many though. They definitely scrounged all corners of the factories to get the first couple year postwar bikes made!
