They are for sure white walls. Thankfully the seller had a loose photo album page filled with pics of the same soldier and one was him closeup with his bike.

Check out the mud flap on the front fender.

Other photos show him at Camp cook in California but the Luzon photos are from August of 1945. End of war time period. Might explain the Bike Mods.

This will give me another chance to scan and ID the unit patch. Also they are T5 stripes.

Some closeups of the USO bike lineup taken on my phone.

If anyone would like the other copy of this original press photo (without print crop lines and slightly lighter saturation) it is available from this same seller.

1943 Press Photo Soldiers on leave take a bicycle jaunt Around Washington, D.C.

I'll try to pull some detail off the Luzon Columbia photos later this week when they arrive.

You know this sergeant is wishing he had a strap
for his Kodak Brownie. Darn Class A's. Pockets
are too narrow for anything but a business card.
Twenty bucks says he put the camera in the USO
lunch box.

The photos of "Francis" in Luzon with his G519 have arrived.

The one loose photo is absolutely tiny, no more details than whats been posted. I really need to purchase a photo scanner for my PC to do these justice.

Here's a better close up of the album sheet I took with my phone.
