No. On these bikes he rode a 58. I have one of these team bikes that he gave me for letting him and Victor Hugo Pena use my cabin on Mt Lemmon in Feb of 2000 for a training camp. He offered me a 58, but since I wanted to actually ride it, and I ride a 56, I took a 56. I'm curious if the OP actually got $8500 for this bike?

Hi Everyone - I'm responding to this post because I have the same bike (but ridden by Jonathan Vaughters in the 1999 Tour de France). Mine has the same built-in carbon fiber number hanger and no serial number. I acquired the bike in 2005 from my former ski coach who was friends with Jonathan and I've put maybe 50-100miles on it, and am now looking to sell it. My ski coach swapped out the fork to accommodate a more upright riding position, but I still have the original fork. The seat post and pedals were swapped out, but I kept the parts (titanium seat post, Look pedals) that came with the bike. Any suggestions on where to sell this or how much it could be worth? I no longer ride road bikes and would like to see it go to a good home. I would also consider keeping it if it would significantly increase in value as a collector's item. See pictures attached for reference. Thanks!

I’d try one of the road bike forums. Of course you could list it for sale in the proper section of this forum just make sure you read the rules for selling.

This is a good site, but is mostly all about classics steel.

Bike Forums has a broad interest base, so it would most likely be your best route?

Fabulous bike!
Those were the Halcyon days before the big let down.
