Let’s see some late 70’s/early 80’s Cruisers and Spitfires

picked this cruiser up off a giant! Saw this on the CL and thought that was an atom rear drum. Once I saw it in person realized it was a nexus 7 speed. The solid steel seat post was welded in place!

It had a sticker on the seat post support that said Beer Run! This bike was purchased 3-4 years ago…$25. Many parts went to other bikes. The wheel set is on my GT Pacific Flyer…

That's way too much overhang...
Would have been easier to install a sissybar after the first brace. Wild that they welded on a gusset to keep the seat tube supported in the front.

I know that my 1981 men's Cruiser is a balloon frame, is the Ladies version also a balloon frame? Was the Cruiser a balloon frame in '80?

I'm pretty sure it became a balloon frame when they installed the rear brake bridge.

I'm posting this here, as I know it's not a Schwinn, but if there was something that closely resembles a Later Schwinn Cruiser, Schmurray, this is it ... I have never seen one of these bicycles and was wondering if they were ever Sold in the U.S.A.? ... Their BMX bicycles were sold through Independent Bike Dealers ...

It looks like that 5 speed is using the Uniglide chain!
