Did the actual color change or just the name? Schwinn renamed the Lime as Emerald, but the color didn't change.
Color did change ... Heavy Duti ... '80-83 Golden Yellow was a slight bit darker ... I have an NOS Golden Yellow chainguard and it's truly different.
HD ... '72-'74 was named Kool Lemon ... '75-'79 was Yellow ... I'm thinking these were the same, just a name change.

I swapped out seat, grips and pedals (black to dark brown).I think these are better match for the color on Schwinn. I'll ride with these for awhile.

My 1979 dual Atom drum brake Spitfire 5, with original Springer fork, Persons seat and original watermarked decals from Torrance, CA. I've had this bike for 4 years and just recently changed out the whitewall studs and added the original gum wall studs- minus the fenders

Before I got this Golden Yellow cruiser it lived as a 5 speed with Shimano Positron, when I got the bike it was setup as a single speed. The rear end spacing was definitely spaced for a 5 speed so I rebuilt it with a nice period correct set of gold Araya 7X rims and an Atom drum brake. I'll change a couple of other small bits and call her done.

Re: 26" Cal Custom Cruisers and Strandies...ONLY!

Just finished making this one mine. I added the True Torch girder fork, S2s with front & rear Atom drum brakes, a Brooks saddle & some small bits. The derailleur cable & rear brake cable are routed through the frame for a clean look.
