Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
Rescue from a local estate. Was going to go through it and spend a minute...
Decided to offer it up here. Bike was repainted in THICK candy metal flake paint..
more flake than the Schwinn red of the era. There are a few spots of paint damage
but overall paint is mostly there and intact.
Fenders are repro 90s? I guess flared 'retro' ones... I was going to pull them off..
just don't want to invest much time in the bike at this time.
Typhoon Black wall tires hold air.
I rode this bike all over Redondo, Hermosa and Manhattan beach last night on the 4th of July.
Bike rides smooth...brake could be adjusted a bit better. The only bummer was when I went
to shift...nothing happened. Cable is cut right were it enters the shifter. Gearing was ok
for what I was doing last night... didn't bug me as a one speed.
Chrome on wheels should clean up...on area of about 4 or 5 spokes rear wheel has some
chrome loss. Kickstand was a bit crusty..wire wheeled a small area... looks ok..not all pitted out...Silver Rattlecan and you're good!
Cannot make out the full serial...first letters anyways... Heavy paint blurring.
Not guaranteeing this is a Klunker 5... but ya never know.. didn't pull stem or crank
to look for dates.
SOLD AS IS----a rider that looks COOL and is USA
I will offer the winner an NOS Shifter unit cable etc for an additional 40.00 if so desired.
Was keeping it for a better candidate but would cut it loose if you need it.
LOCAL PU encouraged but will ship
