I’d guess they had a contract in Japan like most companies do with China these days. Made and assembled there. Imported here. Some partial assembly may have taken place here due to size and shipping.

if you are able to locate a serial marking on the frame its placement and format could lead to a specific manufacturer and date

I have looked it over multiple times very well, The only thing close to a serial number is this just below the seat.

since cycle roughly fifty-five year old there may be no one presently at company who recalls this era
