Again... 1949 is not the only year for a black & orange color Monark Super-Twin. And ALL 1949-1952 Super-Twins were standard with a fender-mounted headlight. UNLESS one ordered the deluxe model was ordered (there were TWO different Super-Twin models– something people today don't know). If the deluxe model was ordered, this came with a special version of the Hall "Bi-Lite" that differed slightly from the Whizzer version.
As for the battery-operated fender-mounted headlights... there were THREE of them (as in 3 different types)... and today almost all are missing along with their mounts. So whether a fender light is present or not in a photo is still not a defining fact.
And again, we have ALL of the dealer literature, owner's manuals, parts books, sales materials, hang tags, etc. etc. for the Monark Super-Twin. And we have owned lots of Super-Twins over the years.
