Very sad to hear this news. I learned so much from him and laughed dozens of times at some of his posts. Quirky, yes but a heart of gold. He will be truly missed.

I never met the man but was always pleased with his comments and knowledge he graciously shared, often with humour and always with class. He obviously touched many people in the hobby and in his life. I remember telling him that my Brother's ( now late) name was Patrick.

As per article above on Patric smiling while riding, I'm sure he's still smiling. I know my late Brother is. RIP Patric.

When I was young (4th grade), I’d just started getting into bicycles and my grandparents lived in Fairborn. They saved that news article for me to read, and I later met Patric at one of the Fairborn 4th of July parades, where he was riding the Twin Flex. A year or two later, I joined them with my mom’s old Huffy, and he invited me to stop by and gave me a few 1930s bike parts (which I still have). He was such a kind individual, to take the time to invite over and share the hobby with an enthusiastic (and probably annoying) kid. When I was cleaning out my house a couple of years ago, I found this photo from my first parade with them.

A loss for all of us, I will miss his photographic horsepower enhancements and the rare treat of getting a phone call from the man himself.

Patric was a true pioneer and a scholar.
I also never met him in person, however he always had kind and useful comments regarding the projects that I communicated with him about.
A certain wealth of knowledge on davis built.
His posts were always useful and witty to say the least.
He will be missed.
