Another question for the Schwinn SMEs. Do the Schwinn Typhoon Tires have to specify Made in USA in the white wall to be original ?

Another question for the Schwinn SMEs. Do the Schwinn Thypoon Tires have to specify Made in USA in the white wall to be original ?

Actually, the Thypoon tires were only used on girls bikes.

Looks like the real McCoy. You may be getting teased on the spelling of Typhoon. It has an H ( after the P). YES they have to say "Made in the U.S.A."

You could put a "wanted" ad on the Cabe here. They are not very common in like new condition. They are not common at all really, especially in whitewall. Look on Ebay or Facebook, or ask other collectors. Good luck.

The last two batches of typhoon tires made were for the 1995 phantoms and prior to that was the Schwinn approved Typhoons that were made for Maple Island, and I believe both batches were made in Taiwan. It’s been a long time since the typhoon had been made in the USA. Bicycle bones sold all his stock of Maple Island Typhoons maybe six years ago.

Here's the tag that came on the Maple Island tires.

What about the schwinn typhoons that don’t say any country ? Just Schwinn Typoon Cord letters ? Are those made in USA ?
