Hi everyone, I found this bike at a tag sale wasn't really looking for a bike but thought the wife would love it. Doing some research to see what this bike was all about lead me to this website.
Story is this bike was used by the police dept early in its life and has stayed all original. I don't feel the rear side baskets are original because I haven't seen any pictures.
So far I replaced the original tires with the only ones I could find that were 650B, 584mm x 1 1/2 wide ( I think the original are more like 1 x 3/4 wide....greased all bearings in front fork, both front and rear hubs...
Bike seat is in great shape, front brake works perfect, bike has the rear wheel lock.
Any idea what year bike I have ? my guess is early 50's ?
I paid $100 for bike.

The Torpedo hub has a year stamp, it says 52, ergo 1952. It´s all original. I have a similar gents bike i mint condition:
