What was the first bicycle shop you can remember going to as a kid? Please post pictures! Or one you frequented a lot as a youngster, or the one you got your first bicycle from?

Red Klinedinst in York, Pa was the first I remember my father taking me to. We lived about pretty close to that shop until I was in the second grade.

No pics but shop was “Pops” just north of Edinger on Bristol in Santa Ana, Ca. In the mid 1970’s Schwinn Cyclery opened a couple miles south of Pops on the opposite side of Bristol. I was stoked and I got a job at the Schwinn shop in 1977 and spent my first paycheck as a down payment on my first Schwinn, my folks couldn’t afford those expensive bikes! Great memories.

Station_13_1930.jpg Western Auto, Proctor District Tacoma Washington. Loved that store. Would ride our bikes there. Bought my bike accessories, model kits there. Second pic is the beloved five and ten (as we knew it) same area. Bought toys there. Around the corner was Fire Station 13 where we would hang out. Great times.

I couldn't find a picture of the shop but it was a Schwinn dealer in La Lesa, Ca. named Sportland. Opened around 1933 and closed in the 70's. Here are the 1969 Schwinn catalogs I got out got out of it when it closed. Cool place to hang out in the 50s and 60s.
