Thanks @birdzgarage I'm still toying with a rear break set-up. Any recommendations for running the same type side pull I have up front? I have not found a suitable adapter yet.

Have to be fabricated.i don't know if the weinmann adapter fits the early fender mount.they made one that fits the stingray and middleweight frames but pretty hard to come by usually

Yeah I think you’re right. I found some brake bridge adapters for sale and they didn’t appear like they would work with this prewar design. I’m considering machining one out of polymer but I may switch to mechanical disc brakes on this one. Hubs are disc ready but I’m not sure how to select a set. There’s so many out there.

Have you seen or considered the cantilever brake pad stud configuration? It's at least cheaper than the cast aluminum adapters.

I just tried one in my C Model fender hole and the stud is too big, would need to be drilled up a mm or so. It does work in this post war frame though.

I've always liked the idea of having a Pitbull caliper or roller cam style center pull brake mounted below, but haven't built one up yet. I like my drums so I don't have to worry about wearing finish off the rims.
