I just had a bad experience with a DOND auction for a frame and fork with fenders. You know who you are. It was badged but the maker was not "identified", but simply his guess it was a "30's frame". I had an idea "who" the maker was, but the seller did not know as he did not mention the maker and assumed it was a "30's frame/fork". His mistake, NOT mine. I started off the bidding with a low-ish bid. 30 hours after my bid there was no response. He broke the rules. Giving him the benefit of doubt, I put in a bid that was reasonable for a stripped, unidentified frame and fork with a crankset in it with. He straight away said "No Deal, sorry" , then withdrew it completely. Over 200 views and no other bids. Why did he not let it run another 24 hours then withdraw it? Was someone working the scenes behind the curtains? Forensic scientists would have been very suspicious as this withdrawn DOND had all the fingerprints of collusion and a back room deal.
1.) Why did he not respond within 24 hrs? 2.) Why did he immediately after my 2nd bid (within minutes) post No Deal "SORRY"? Why was he "sorry". 3.) Why did he not wait another 24 hrs for any other potential higher bidders? You can only assume he was corrupted by a back room deal by another caber who "knew" what this was to begin with. The lack of courage, character, honesty and/or truth (if my intuition is correct in this case) it makes me want to throw up. Any seller who breaks the rules should be banned from The Cabe from ever selling again. Bad actors should be called out. This site is a fine resource for those honest people who make up the majority of users here and when the black hearts collude in secret to break the rules, we should call them out. You know who you are..
