Schwinn Phantoms with blackwall tires

Question for the Schwinn SMEs. Between 1949 and 1959, which years was the Phantom offered with blackwall tires ? Was this an option to order whitewalls or blackwalls?

Being in central Arizona, I'd say that's a fairy tale. One factor that made WW's scarce was the Korean war.

The Phantom and Panther were Schwinn's high end models so they were usually equipped (spec'd) with WW's.

I also have read (somewhere) about black walls being used on early Phantoms because of shortages caused by the Korean War. To me, a Black Phantom looks cooler when it's wearing a pair of black walls.
