Originally purchased from the Omaha Bicycle Company in Benson (Omaha, NE), we believe Violet to be a 1965 Twinn Deluxe, and she has been overhauled quite a bit, providing a much smoother, safer ride! She's been cleaned up, touched up, and had her brakes adjusted, with all new housings, and she is simply stunning in person!
She is an all-original girl, too! Original seats, bars, grips, pedals, paint, and lustrous chrome rims, all with the iconic Schwinn logo and detailing. We do suspect the tires have been upgraded prior to our purchase, because they are so white and in such amazing shape.
We've added a few accessories to Violet, as well, which are included in the sale: 2 bottle cages and 2 bells; one period specific, and one martini-themed to match Violet's brilliant paint job!
Violet is a one-of-a-kind biking experience, and whether you are a bike enthusiast, or a Mid Century paraphernalia buff, this bike is just plain fun, both to ride and appreciate!
The 1965 Deluxe Twinn Tandem specs: 26" frame 5-speed derailleur equipped tandem with lower gear for easier hill climbing, smoother starts, higher gear for faster cruising speeds. Caliper brakes and rear expander hub for surer stops. Welded-on fittings for added strength.
Front rider size is large; back rider is medium.
