do you have pics of the cruiser 5 without the fenders? I have a 79 Spitfire with both front and rear atom drum/springer fork but with fenders and I wanted to see what yours looks like.

Just received this bicycle on Sunday, hopefully by this weekend I will be removing fenders as, I have a nice pair of blackwall Studded Balloon Knobby tires that I might install.

During the 2025 Monroe Bicycle Swap Meet, I had a guy say that he has one of these Schwinn Cruisers and that he was wanting to sell and wondered if I was interested, I told him to bring to my swap space, later in the Show he shows up with this absolutely beautiful blue 1979 Schwinn Spitfire 5, serial # HQxxxxxx ... August 1979 / Badge # 2479 ... September 4, 1979
Late bicycle with a wide flange '79 ASC front Hub, minimal scratches or chips, will clean up and detail nicely!
Fenders are Going ... GoInG ... GoNe!
This bicycle is from Cherry Hill Schwinn which is from where I grew up, my favorite Schwinn Shops were Cherry Hill, Jacks & Al Petri & Sons, southeastern Detroit, MI.

We Don't Need No Stinking Fenders!
Removed those hideous Wald and Schwinn middleweight fenders from both bicycles.
Put a good used pair of WW Carlisles on the Spitfire and a really nice pair of WW Schwinn Studded Balloon tires on the Schwinn Cruiser ... WoW! ... Big Difference!
Both bicycles need a good going through and a clean / detail but had to make them rideable for now! ... No Fenders in the Way to Go!
